Coronavirus Aftermath: What’s Next- China Lied People Died The Coronavirus was released either intentionally or unintentionally from a lab in Wuhan, China, or a lab 20 miles away. To make matters worse, China censored information, downplayed the threat of the virus to the rest of the world, and doctors in China raising alarms vanished. This prompted calls for action. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) introduced legislation calling for an investigation into China for the Coronavirus and Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) introduced the same legislation in the Senate. The STOP COVID-19 Act, introduced by Congressman Lance Gooden (R-TX) and Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) authorizes the DOJ to investigate the origins of the virus in China. Congressman Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) in the House of Representative and Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) introduced legislation to allow victims of the Coronavirus to sue China. Senator Cotton was the first American politician to raise serious concerns about the Coronavirus, skipping impeachment hearings to warn President Trump of this pandemic in January. Senator Ted Cruz introduced legislation to sanction Chinese officials who censored information regarding the Coronavirus. Congressman Jim Banks (R-IN) proposed forcing China to pay reparations over the Coronavirus which could start by China erasing the $1.1 trillion debt America owes them. Many want to Make America Manufacture Again. One proposal is to create tax credits for American companies to leave China and return to the U.S. World Health Organization’s Abysmal Failure The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) failed at responding to the Coronavirus. The WHO continually defended China and stated that the Coronavirus is a threat- not even declaring the Coronavirus a pandemic until March 11. The W.H.O. ignored warnings from Taiwan in December and from Chinese doctors. The leader of the W.H.O., Tedros Adhanom, is not a medical doctor and has a questionable record, including overlooking several Cholera outbreaks while the Minister of Health in Ethiopia and appointed, now dead, Zimbabwe dictator as a good-will ambassador. There were widespread calls in Congress among Republicans, with the first being from Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ), for the U.S. to defund their contributions to the W.H.O. As a result, President Trump is pulling America’s $400-$500 million in W.H.O. funding. (The Atlantic).
