A hot-mic tape released to Project Veritas, shows three years Amy Robach had a story about convicted multi-millionaire sex-offender Jeffery Epstein. This story highlighted connections many high-profile connections people had with Epstein and interviews with accusers of some of the high-profile individuals. These high-profile individuals include” Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, O.J. Simpson defense's attorney, and Alan Dershowitz. You can see with video here. Supreme Court Upholds Wall Construction In July 2019 the Supreme Court ruled that that President Trump could proceed with the constriction of the border wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. The following are some statutes that uphold the lawfulness and constitutionality of President Trump’s National Emergency Declaration that authorized wall construction. The Brennan Center for Justice found 136 statutory laws that support the National Emergency Declaration including Section 2808 of the Emergencies Act of 1976 allows the “undertake military construction projects not otherwise authorized by law that are necessary to support such use of the armed forces” and Section 10 284 on the U.S. code gives military authority to build barriers to fight drug cartels. Furthermore, Article II Section II of the Constitution gives the President power as the Commander-in-Chief to direct the military at all times. Since 1976 Presidents have declared 60 national emergencies. Currently there are 32 ongoing national emergencies, most of which are need even crises in the U.S. but instead in foreign countries. The emergencies consist of declarations dealing with Nicaragua, Sudan, Libya and Yemen. Similarly, in 1995 President Clinton issued a national emergency declaration so he could act against drug traffickers in Columbia relating to the heroin epidemic (NPR). Cartel Violence Near the Border Nine American citizens living in Mexico near the U.S. were brutally murdered execution style by a drug cartel. This included two eight-month old twins. There were eight survivors which included a nine-month and a four-year-old who were shot. The exact location of this ambush was only 75 miles from the U.S. border in La Mora in the Sonora State of Mexico. The family living there was a fundamentalist Mormon group. This renews calls for more border security and a wall as cartel violence is close to the U.S. border. President Trump should designate drug cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. Others have gone further calling for targeted drone strikes against the cartel which likely be effective but cause a tension between the U.S. and Mexico (NBC News). Illegal Immigrant Charged with DUI Previously Released in CNY Illegal immigrant, Heriberto R. Perez-Velasquez, 31, is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala was arrested for hitting and killing Mark Knapp while driving drunk. Knapp leaves behind a wife and three daughters. A month before this tragedy, Perez-Velasquez was arrested for drunk driving and was released by Wayne County officials instead of being turned to ICE to be deported. In May 2007 Perez-Velasquez was already arrested by Border Patrol for crossing the border illegally and was deported. It is unknown when he illegally re-crossed the border. Government Sponsored Prison Jail Break A gang leader of the Latin Kings, Joel Francisco, was convicted for being a drug dealer. However, he was among the first round of criminals released from jail under the criminal justice reform bill, named the First Step Act signed into law by President Trump. Now after being released, Francisco is charged with manslaughter. In fact, within two weeks he violated terms of his parole by testing positive in a drug test (Providence Journal). Booming Economy In November the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged breaking 28,000 points for the first time, a new record. In addition, job growth beat expectations with 128,000 jobs being created. Unemployment continued to be a record low of 3.6%, indicating a strong economy (CNBC).
